World History Reflection

I believe I have grown in my knowledge as an student through learning in this unit by becoming more informed about  conflict and genocide and learning how to explain the genocides through PSA`s.

This change can be seen in the fact that I am able to much more fully understand this topic. When this unit was taught it was a struggle for me to understand this conflict, as I knew very little about the conflict. In learning about this conflict, i was very interested to know about it. I wanted to be able to know it so much that i could really have an opinion on the conflict.

There were two projects associated with the Conflict and Genocide unit. The first was a letter to our Members of Congress, and the second was a poster that called attention to an ongoing conflict or genocide. The goal of the letter was to help ensure that i as a student understood how the history of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict shapes the reality of why Israelis and Palestinians continue to fight.

For the letters, the driving question was to find our position on the conflict and thn send it to  member of congress by researching primary and secondary source documents. this was a long procss of going trought primary and secondary documents, and then putting all of that and also my own beliefs into a letter. For the posters, the driving question of “What do people need to know about this conflict or genocide?” this was very important because the poster are going to be displayed, so I wanted my poster to be perfect. I would say say my idea changed a lot, but in the end i was hapypy with the result.

The first artifact I have is my letter that was sent to Mike Turner. I am proud of this letter because I believe that it shows that, I reached my goal in writing this letter because I feel i addressed my opinion as well as i could. also so i feel as if i understood the Conflict enough to send a representative to address my own beliefs, and try to persuade my beliefs on him.

The second artifact is the poster i created to express the importance of learning about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I really enjoyed making this poster because i was able to put my own knowledge of a conflict into art. i wanted to be able to show other people the poster and want them to feel like they should elp do something to stop this conflict. i think my poster expresses the importance of why we need "peace in the middle east."
