Family Tree Reflection

Does your family have a family tree? If not have you ever wanted to make one? Well I got the opportunity to make one in my Chinese 1 class! I think my family tree turned out really great. I really feel like the help from the tutor and Mrs. Chen really improved my Chinese writing. There were also a few little and easy requirements to this project. The first thing you had to do was either bring in pictures of the family you live or draw them. The second thing was to draw a tree to put your family in. the next thing was to write a short paragraph in Chinese introducing you and your family with translation on the back. The last requirement was to present in front of your class. I think I could have put a little more information in my writing because I feel my presentation would have been a little better. My biggest challenge was I think I could have really focused in class on it instead of waiting until the last minute to get help from Mrs. Chen and the tutor. I also need to practice more on the writing characters and the sentence structure. If I knew those a little bit more I think I would do better. Overall I feel good about the family tree. The two qualities I used were Creativity and Communication. I used Creativity by putting a unique twist in the picture of my family tree. Creativity to me means putting your own ideas into something that people would see like art work. I used Communication by asking my family about our family tree we have. I think Communication means using a family member, a friend, or even a teacher for help or critique.
