Biome Drawing Reflection
In fine art, we got to choose a biome to draw and recreate. I chose the Sand hill for my biome drawing. Using the Principles of Art to draw this biome I incorporated value, which is lightness and darkness of a color, I felt like my biome especially needed this principle of art. Showing the lightness and darkness of the sand is an example of value. I also incorporated shape into my drawing, meaning 2-D objects. To show this, I drew animals such as the fennec fox and the camel. Also I drew a tree, and cacti to show plant life. Variety was another Principle of Art I used. Meaning use of differences and change. I used different colors for cacti and also different sizes for the cacti. Lastly I used abstract in my drawing. Which means nonrealistic. The shape of my cacti in my drawings aren’t the cacti you see today. You have to use your imagination to feel the shape of the cacti. Also the sand blowing across the drawing you have to be able to see it without it actually looking like sand hills. My biggest challenge would probably be just letting my imagination take over the drawing instead of me wanting to have everything look real. A quality I grew would be creativity. I grew in creativity by making a biome that didn’t look realistic. At my old school, I wouldn’t have cared about how the biome looked and just wouldn’t try. But this year, I have come a long way in this quality, and I thank the school for this. If I had to give creativity a definition it would be using your imagination to make something yours and no on else’s. Unique and creative.
